Bright + Well Yoga is run by Sarah Gartshore as a sole trader. Your privacy is important to me, and in this statement I explain what personal data I collect from you and how I use it. I encourage you to read this statement and contact me if you have any queries regarding the data I hold about you.

This statement is divided between the different relationships I have with people engaging with Bright + Well Yoga. If you are unsure which category you fall into, you can contact me to find out.

General information

Sharing your data:

Under no circumstances is your data ever sold or rented to a third party.

I may share your data in the following circumstances:

  • to service providers and affiliates (PayPal, Wix, Mailchimp) who assist in the delivery of my services

  • to third parties if I believe that disclosure is advisable or necessary to comply with the law, to enforce or apply my terms and conditions, or to protect the rights, property or safety of myself or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

 

Access to your data:

You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you. If you would like a copy of the personal information I hold, please contact me. You also have the right to be forgotten, so you can contact me to request the data I hold be destroyed.

Clients and customers

What data I collect and where it’s kept:

If you subscribe to my website I will be able to see the information you provide which is maintained by Wix. Your name and email address will also be added to my mailing list within Mailchimp.

If you attend a class you will be asked to complete a paper registration form which will include name, mobile number, email address and any health related information that is relevant to you practicing yoga in my classes.  These forms are kept securely by me at home.

Why I need it and how I use it:

I need to know this basic personal data in order to keep you up to date about future classes and other news, and to ensure that I am aware of any health related issues which may impact your practice in my classes.

How long I keep it:

​

I am required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years. After this point your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.

Non-customer enquiries

What data I collect and where it’s kept:

​

If you have enquired about my services via the contact form on my website, I collect your name and email address. This information is held within Wix’s systems.

Why I need it and how I use it:

​

I need to know this basic personal data in order to contact you regarding your enquiry.

​

Email subscribers

What data I collect and where it’s kept:

I collect your name and email address when you opt in to my email list. This data is held in MailChimp.

Why I need it and how I use it:

I use this information to remind you about my business and brand – this means that I will send you a monthly email of resources and infrequent marketing communications about new products and services.

How long I keep it:

​

Your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.

Site users

How does the website use cookies:

​

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me analyse data about my web page traffic and improve the website and tailor it to customer needs. I only use this information for analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Cookies help me provide you with a better website, enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the Bright + Well Yoga site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question

Why I need it and how I use it:

This allows me to analyse my web traffic. This analysis is about general trends rather than you as an individual.

Credit / debit card details

​

We do not store any credit card details. Any payments are taken through PayPal or Wix payments.

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how I have handled your personal data, you can contact me and I will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
